Tucker Busted Mugshots Explained
Tucker County runs no jail of its own, so it posts no county arrest roster either. When someone is booked here, they usually end up at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, or TVRJ, over in Belington. Two agencies divide the paperwork. The Tucker County Sheriff's Department makes arrests, moves prisoners, and keeps its own reports, while the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation, WVDCR, runs the regional custody system. Knowing that split saves time. One more thing: the old courthouse and jail in Parsons is a historic landmark. Nobody gets booked there now.
What does booking actually produce? A record of admission, a photo, a booking date, the charges listed, and any court order tied to the hold. WVDCR policy calls for three LiveScan images of every adult: front, left profile, and right profile. The front view becomes the header image in the official system. Still, a public search may not show every photo. A person could be released, transferred, legally restricted, or simply missing from the public interface. The court file, not the jail listing, tells you how a case finally ended.
Important: Tucker County busted mugshots come from booking events at the county jail. Each photo is taken when a person is processed into custody. To see how a case turned out, look up the court file for that name.
Tucker Booking Record Fields
A booking record is not a full criminal history. It's not the police incident report either. It's a narrower document. What you get depends on who holds it and what state law forces the custodian to black out. The WVDCR jail search can surface a name, the jail holding the person, a photo when one exists, and a More Info entry. That entry usually carries the booking date, birth date, and court order. One tip: ask narrowly. A request for one specific admission record lands better than a demand for every photo tied to a name.
| Field | What it identifies |
|---|---|
| Name and date of birth | Identity details used to distinguish people with similar names. |
| Booking or admission date | When the regional facility recorded the custody intake. |
| Booking number or agency record number | A useful reference when asking a custodian for an existing record. |
| Charges as booked | Charges at intake, which can later be amended, reduced, or dismissed. |
| Facility and court order | The current custody location and the order connected to the admission. |
| Photograph, if available | A public-interface image when WVDCR exposes one, not a promise of universal display. |
Need the incident report too? Ask for it separately. The arresting agency keeps that report, while TVRJ or WVDCR holds the admission record and image. In Tucker County's regional setup, that distinction matters more than almost anywhere else.
Tucker Booking Photo Requests
For a sheriff-held record, start with the Tucker County Sheriff's Department. Put the request in writing. Send it to the records custodian. Name the person, give an approximate booking date, note the arresting agency, and ask for one specific booking or admission record. Under W. Va. Code §29B-1-3, the custodian must respond as soon as practicable. The deadline is five business days, weekends and legal holidays excluded. That response might hand over the records, schedule an inspection, or deny the request in writing with reasons given.
- State the full name, spelling variants, approximate date, and known agency or facility.
- Request the releasable booking or admission record, booking date, charges as booked, agency, facility, public status fields, and photograph if maintained and releasable.
- Ask for electronic copies when available and for an estimate of reproduction cost before copying.
- If TVRJ created the record, ask whether it should be sent to WVDCR or make a parallel specific request to the regional-jail custodian.
- Keep the written response and use the court record for the final disposition.
West Virginia lets custodians charge reasonable copying costs. Search and retrieval time cannot be tacked on as a fee. The statute forbids it. No Tucker sheriff fee chart, booking-photo form, or separate turnaround promise appears to exist. The TVRJ facility page lists 304-637-0382. It publishes no dedicated photo-request form and no request fee.

Tucker Busted Photo Law
West Virginia's open-record law does not force agencies to publish every booking image. Section 29B-1-4 builds in exemptions for privacy, law-enforcement needs, security, and confidentiality. Before releasing anything, a custodian has to weigh the actual record. Active-investigation material, protected victims, juveniles, medical details, sealed matters, and safety concerns can all stay back. If something gets withheld, ask for the statutory basis in writing. Never assume a public portal result tells the whole story.
Social media gets special treatment. W. Va. Code §62-1-6a limits a law-enforcement agency's routine posting of booking photos for certain defined minor offenses, with statutory exceptions. After a request backed by a qualifying favorable disposition, removal can be required within 14 days. The law does not make booking photos nonpublic across the board, and it leaves WVDCR and its subordinate organizations outside the definition of agency, so that timetable never reaches them.
Expungement happens in court, not through a commercial publisher. Eligible matters can be petitioned under W. Va. Code §61-11-26, which sets its own limits and waiting periods. The West Virginia Judiciary forms page carries the state forms, and the Tucker Circuit Clerk handles local filings. Once an order is signed, send copies to every relevant custodian. Use a publisher's free document-based correction route where one exists. Skip any intermediary charging money just because an old result still shows up.
Tucker Busted Photo Layers
A booking photo passes through several layers. Each layer follows its own rules. The WVDCR admission policy explains when an adult's image gets created at all. Whether the public sees it depends on the active RJA search. Section 62-1-6a sits elsewhere. It governs what an agency can post on social media. A favorable court outcome can justify asking an agency to remove a qualifying post. That request wipes nothing from other custodians or from search engines, though.
Fixing a wrong, duplicated, or expunged record starts at the source office. Sheriff-held material goes to the sheriff. TVRJ or WVDCR handles the regional record. A disposition or court order belongs with the clerk. Save the source URL and keep copies of every exchange. Once a source page comes down or changes, Google's Refresh Outdated Content tool can nudge a stale search result toward the new version. A live page is beyond its reach.
Neither Mugshots.com nor Mugshots.zone lists a confirmed Tucker-specific section. Their general policies prove nothing about local coverage. West Virginia law does not bend for either of them. If a publisher offers a free document-based review, confirm the underlying record or court order first. Then use that publisher's current route.
Note: The five-business-day FOIA deadline covers only a custodian's reply to an access request, not the completion of a correction.
Tucker Busted Mugshot Lookup
Tucker County sits inside a regional system. The lookup order matters. Start with the state jail search for anyone possibly still in regional custody. For a fresh admission, Daily Incarcerations is the right screen. Then move to the court index to follow the case itself. If online results come up empty or thin, send a written record request. Someone released may simply drop off the active roster. A person moved to state prison shows up in the separate WVDCR prison search. Federal and immigration custody each run their own locators.
- Search the WVDCR RJA Offender Search with at least the first three letters of the last name. The first name is optional.
- Check Daily Incarcerations by county or institution for a recent admission.
- Confirm the county, agency, booking date, facility, and court-order details. TVRJ serves seven counties, so a name alone is not enough.
- Use the state WVDCR offender-search landing page if the person may be in state prison rather than regional-jail custody.
- Check the magistrate or circuit court index, then ask the appropriate clerk for documents or a current disposition.
The RJA result only tells you who is in custody right now. It is not a court record. For active warrants, the Tucker Most Wanted Fugitives page maps the verified route. That route runs through the magistrate clerk and the sheriff, not any unverified list.
Tucker Roster Search
The WVDCR/RJA active-jail search is the official roster for Tucker County arrests. TVRJ takes bookings from Tucker. It also serves Barbour, Pocahontas, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, and Upshur counties. You'll find the jail at 400 Abbey Road in Belington. A result may list a jail location and, when one exists, a photograph. The More Info view adds identifying details plus booking data. The state system says updates happen regularly, though no Tucker-specific hourly schedule exists. No fixed number of days keeps an entry online either.
| Search field | How to use it | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Last name | Enter at least the first three letters. | This is the required starting field for the RJA search. |
| First name | Optional additional field. | It can narrow a common last-name result. |
| Verification control | Complete it when the portal displays one. | The public interface may require an active session or verification. |
| Result details | Open More Info where available. | Compare facility, booking details, and court-order information before relying on a match. |
No verified sheriff booking app exists for Tucker County, and nothing official publishes county photos through an app. The county and 911 pages do link agency Facebook accounts, but those posts are selective rather than a full booking feed. For custody-status or release-transfer alerts, West Virginia's VINE service is the official channel. VINE tracks regional-jail status. It is not a mugshot source.
Note: An empty search does not rule out an arrest, since the person may have bonded out, transferred, appeared under a different spelling, or not yet shown up in the interface.
Recent Tucker Busted Bookings
WVDCR Daily Incarcerations is the state's official window on daily and recent admissions. Filter it by county or by institution. The indexed summaries give an admission time, name, birth date, gender, a More Info link, and a running daily total. Expect a view of the day, not a live minute-by-minute feed. Intake processing, transport, identity checks, court paperwork, and interface downtime can all delay when an admission appears.
No multi-day booking blotter exists for the Tucker sheriff, Parsons, Thomas, or Davis. The Parsons Advocate Police News section runs recurring reports of local criminal complaints, but it is not a complete arrest log and not a promise of a photograph. It can add useful local color. Official sources should still lead the way.
Commercial reposting sites also carry Tucker pages, including Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, and Arrests.org. None of them is a Tucker custody authority. RecentlyBooked claims a 30-day window with multiple daily refreshes, but that is the site's own statement, not an official schedule. Entries there can be stale, incomplete, wrongly attributed, or silent on later court developments.
To see the official interface itself, begin at the WVDCR Offender Search landing page.
The state landing page keeps three searches apart: the jail search, Daily Incarcerations, and the prison search. That separation helps a current regional booking lookup stay distinct from a prison record.
Tucker Court Disposition Records
A booking charge tells you only that someone was taken into custody in Tucker County. What happens afterward plays out in court, and that story lives in a separate set of files: first appearances, arraignments, bond decisions, pleas, hearings, dismissals, trials, sentencings, and probation. To follow it, the West Virginia Magistrate Record Search lets you enter a name or case number and pulls up to 30 index results. The free search shows the index only. Actual court documents stay with the clerks.
For magistrate paperwork or a case's current status, call the Tucker Magistrate Clerk at 211 First Street, Suite 303, Parsons, 304-478-2665. Circuit matters run through the West Virginia court-record access gateway plus the Tucker Circuit Clerk at 211 First Street, Suite 403, Parsons, 304-478-2606. The circuit clerk keeps circuit, family, and juvenile records, though confidential or protected files may be withheld.
Disposition matters: Charges can be reduced, amended, dismissed, or resolved by plea as a case moves forward. The court record, not the booking label, shows where things landed.
Tucker Custody Status Paths
Know the custody stage before you search. Someone freshly admitted to TVRJ often shows up in Daily Incarcerations before anything else. While regional-jail supervision continues, the RJA search should list the person. After a release or transfer, that active interface may go quiet even though the record still sits with an agency or court. A state prison sentence means checking WVDCR's prison search instead. Federal custody points to the BOP Inmate Locator, and possible ICE detention points to the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Neither of those tools promises a booking photo.
| Status | Best official starting point | What it can answer |
|---|---|---|
| Recent regional-jail admission | WVDCR Daily Incarcerations | Recent admission information by county or institution. |
| Active TVRJ custody | WVDCR RJA Offender Search | Current jail location and a photo if the interface makes one available. |
| Released or transferred | Sheriff, TVRJ/WVDCR, and court clerk | Record-routing information and the case file. |
| State prison custody | WVDCR prison offender search | State-sentenced custody, not the original Tucker booking event. |
| Federal or immigration custody | BOP or ICE locator | Separate federal or immigration status, not a Tucker court disposition. |
Tucker Historic Record Paths
An online roster disappearing does not mean the record was destroyed. WVDCR's schedule keeps inmate records until release or file closure and holds classification files permanently, but it never promises a booking image stays public for that whole stretch. West Virginia magistrate rules preserve many criminal records for ten years, while certain specified matters stay on file for 75 years after conviction or dismissal. When an online result vanishes, go straight to the Tucker clerk or whichever agency currently holds the record.
Digging further back? The West Virginia State Archives collection index and the Archives and History Library cover state and historical holdings. Research requests must be written; the Archives takes nothing by phone or email. It cannot replace a current TVRJ, sheriff, or court request. And no source guarantees that an old Tucker booking photo was ever digitized or survives.
Tucker Busted City Records
Parsons, Thomas, and Davis all feed into the same regional booking system, yet their law enforcement setups differ. Parsons runs its own municipal police department. Thomas has no city police, and Davis has no police force or jail at all. Those differences matter when you need an incident report. They do not create separate city mugshot rosters. Official custody searches still run through TVRJ and WVDCR.
- Parsons Busted Mugshots: Parsons Police, sheriff, and state police activity, with booking at TVRJ.
- Thomas Busted Mugshots: sheriff and state police coverage because Thomas has no municipal police department.
- Davis Busted Mugshots: sheriff and state police routing because Davis has no municipal police force or jail.
Each city page keeps the local agency route apart from the regional custody system. For newspaper coverage and the path from complaint to court, use the Tucker County crime news resource.
